Best performer, most common
The 8-element version is widely considered superior. Both may contain radioactive thorium oxide glass which can yellow over time but can be cleared with UV exposure.

Buying Guide
Check for yellowing by looking through the lens - slight yellow is fixable with UV light. Test aperture for smooth operation. The 8-element version is preferred. All-metal construction should feel substantial.
