Buying Guide

The capacitor issue is notorious - symptoms include erratic shutter behaviour, firing at wrong speeds, or refusing to fire. Test thoroughly before buying. Capacitors can be replaced but require skilled work. The X-700 is an excellent camera when working, with great ergonomics and superb Rokkor lenses. Test all modes and fire at all shutter speeds.
