Buying Guide
Look for 'Asahi Pentax' branding - these are earlier Japanese-made units and generally higher quality. Later 'Pentax' branded versions were made in Hong Kong/China. Check the meter works - it's the most common failure point. The shutter is mechanical and very reliable. The K1000 was THE photography school camera for decades, so many have heavy use.
