This page is for Silverlog, the film photography logbook, on the App Store and Google Play. You only have an account if you signed in to use sync (Silverlog 2) or Cloud backup (Silverlog 1.x); both use the same account. Silverlog's tool apps, such as Timer and Reciprocity, have no accounts, so there is nothing to delete.
In the app
Silverlog 2: open Settings → Account → Delete account. The app asks you to confirm twice, the second time by typing DELETE. If you signed in with Apple, Apple asks you to confirm too, so that Silverlog stops using Sign in with Apple for your account.
Silverlog 1.x: open Settings → Cloud Backup → Delete Account.
Your account is deleted from Silverlog's servers straight away, with everything stored with it, and your email address is removed from RevenueCat. The logbook on the phone you used stays there; other phones that sync with the account remove theirs. A photo that was still uploading at that moment is removed by our daily clean-up.
Without the app
Email privacy@silverlog.app from the address you sign in with, with the subject “Delete my account”. If you can't write from that address (for example, you used Hide My Email with Sign in with Apple), say so in your email and we will find another way to check the account is yours. We will delete the account and its data within 30 days and reply to confirm.
What is deleted
- Your account: your email address and user id
- Your synced logbook: rolls, frames and their places, notes, kit, film and paper stock, darkroom logs, prints, presets, lists and settings
- Your synced photos
- Your Silverlog 1.x Cloud backups
- The records that go with the account: your Silverlog Pro status as our server last saw it, the phones that synced with it, and daily totals of what it synced and downloaded
- Your email address at RevenueCat, the service that manages Silverlog Pro. If RevenueCat can't be reached at that moment, we remove it by hand
What is kept
- Purchases: Apple or Google Play keep their own record of what you bought, as they do for any purchase. RevenueCat keeps the record of what you bought, without your email address, so that a purchase such as lifetime Pro can always be restored with Restore Purchases.
- Crash reports and usage counts are not linked to your account, and are deleted by Sentry and Aptabase on their own schedules.
- Your phone: the logbook on the phone you used stays there until you delete it, use Settings → Clear all data, or remove the app.
- Backups you made yourself are files you saved or shared, so they stay wherever you put them.
Subscriptions
Deleting your account doesn't cancel a Silverlog Pro subscription. Cancel it in Google Play (Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions) or in your Apple Account settings (Subscriptions).
Deleting some of your data
To delete your synced data but keep the account, or to ask about anything else we hold, email privacy@silverlog.app. Turning sync off in the app stops syncing but doesn't delete what is already on our servers. More detail is in the privacy policy.
