Important notes
- Supply chains change. A confirmed rebrand from 2023 may use a different emulsion today. Manufacturers can switch sources without announcement.
- Same emulsion ≠ identical film. Differences in film base, anti-halation layer, and DX coding can produce visible differences even when the silver halide emulsion is the same.
- Development times carry over. If two films share the same emulsion, you can use the same development times. Check the base stock's page for times.
- Pre-treated films are different. Brands like dubblefilm and Yodica apply effects to standard film before sale. The base stock may be identifiable but the results will differ from shooting it unmodified.
