EI is the speed the film was rated at when shooting. Evidence says where each time comes from: the manufacturer’s own data, a named test, a compilation or several agreeing reports (community consensus), or one person’s report. Times marked “not yet verified” come from secondary sources and haven’t been checked against a manufacturer datasheet. Where sources give different times, every one is listed and marked “sources differ”.

Other temperatures

Colour developers run at 39°C (102°F) with a tight tolerance of around ±0.3°C, so there’s no reliable temperature chart. If you can’t hold the temperature, follow your kit’s instructions for its lower-temperature times.

Notes on this pairing
  • Kit time; applies to any C-41 film. Developer at 102 °F (39 °C): continuous for 10 s, then 4 inversions every 30 s. Add 1 °C if not using a water bath.
  • Kit time; applies to any C-41 film. CineStill variable-temperature chart; agitation continuous for the first 10 s, then 4 inversions every 30 s. Lower temperatures give lower contrast and colour separation.
  • Kit time; applies to any C-41 film. CineStill variable-temperature chart; agitation continuous for the first 30 s, then 4 inversions every minute. Lower temperatures give lower contrast and colour separation.
  • Kit time; applies to any C-41 film. CineStill variable-temperature chart; agitation continuous for the first minute, then 4 inversions every 2 min. Lower temperatures give lower contrast and colour separation.
  • Kit time; applies to any C-41 film. Push +1: CineStill gives 4.55 min (3.5 min x 1.30) at 39 °C.
  • Kit time; applies to any C-41 film. Push +2: CineStill gives 6.13 min (3.5 min x 1.75) at 39 °C.
  • Kit time; applies to any C-41 film. Push +3: CineStill gives 8.75 min (3.5 min x 2.50) at 39 °C.
  • Kit time; applies to any C-41 film. Pull -1: CineStill gives 2.75 min at 39 °C.
