EI is the speed the film was rated at when shooting. Evidence says where each time comes from: the manufacturer’s own data, a named test, a compilation or several agreeing reports (community consensus), or one person’s report. Times marked “not yet verified” come from secondary sources and haven’t been checked against a manufacturer datasheet. Where sources give different times, every one is listed and marked “sources differ”.

Other temperatures

Colour developers run at 40.6°C (105°F) with a tight tolerance of around ±0.3°C, so there’s no reliable temperature chart. If you can’t hold the temperature, follow your kit’s instructions for its lower-temperature times.

How they work together

Kodak Ektachrome E100
Kodak E-4000 (Aug 2018): extremely fine grain (rms 8), low D-min, moderately enhanced colour saturation with neutral balance and a low-contrast tone scale; no speed or colour compensation from 1/10,000 to 10 s. Reintroduced in 2018.
Notes on this pairing
  • Kit time; applies to any E-6 film. First developer, hand tank at 105 °F: vigorous for the first 15 s, then every 30 s. Rotary tube at 105 °F is also 6.5 min.
  • Kit time; applies to any E-6 film. Push +1: first developer only, at 105 °F.
  • Kit time; applies to any E-6 film. Push +2: first developer only, at 105 °F.
  • Kit time; applies to any E-6 film. Pull -1: first developer only, at 105 °F.
