What went wrong?
The edges of my 120 frames are fogged
Light fogging along the long edges of 120 or 220 frames, sometimes worse at one end of the roll.
Check this first
Was the roll tight when you took it out of the camera?
Likely causes
- 1.
Backing paper wound loosely
Common- How to tell
- Edge fogging, worst on the outer turns of the roll.
- Fix
- Keep thumb pressure on the spool when unloading, and seal it straight away. Load and unload in shade.
- 2.
Light leak in the film back or a worn dark slide
Occasional- How to tell
- Fogging in the same position on every frame from one camera back.
- Fix
- Check the back's light seals and dark slide.
Avoiding it next time
- Unload 120 film in shade and keep it tight.
